Richard Albert Jarrell

Richard Albert Jarrell of Wilson passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the age of 92. He was born on December 7, 1928 in Rocky Mount. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Diane J. McIntyre and her husband, Bob, and Teresa J. Miller and her husband, Buddy, and granddaughters, Amanda D. Miller and Amber M. Boggs and her husband, Clint.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-eight years, Barbara Parker Jarrell; his parents, Benjamin Weldon Jarrell and Daisy Vienna Caison, and his brother, Benjamin Sanford Jarrell.
Richard was a baker by profession and served the Lord faithfully as a deacon and through teaching, church planting and the bus ministry for more than fifty years. He was funny, a skilled fisherman, could fix almost anything, and loved animals—most of all his granddogs. He cherished writing music, singing and playing the guitar, and visited and performed in rest homes throughout Wilson for more than twenty years. Richard had a true servant’s heart and blessed everyone around him.
The family will hold a private graveside service in Rocky Mount Memorial Park, Rocky Mount.
