Robert "Bob" Fitzgerald Johnson

Robert “Bob” Fitzgerald Johnson, 64, of Stantonsburg passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Funeral services will be held at  2 :30 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Stantonsburg Cemetery, Stantonsburg. Rev. Wayne Whitley and Donnie Williams will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon prior to the service from 1 – 2:15 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman with a love for hunting and fishing. In his spare time he loved to collect antique bottles. Bob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Bob survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Rhonda Johnson; father, Harold Best; brothers, William “Bill” Johnson and wife, Shelby of Walstonburg, Robbie Best and wife, Kim of Wilson and Wayne Best and wife, Kim of Maiden; sister, Vickie Sharpe and husband, Tracey of Black Creek; uncle, Tommy Griffin and wife, Rachel of Wilson; four nieces, one nephew; six great-nieces; one great-nephew; his long time friend, Donnie Williams and brother-in-law, Richard Newcomb.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Best and his grandfather, David Griffin.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Physicians East Oncology Department, Dr. Maria Picton, and the chemo nurses and technicians for their support, and care given to Bob.
