Roger Dean Mozingo, 87, of Kenly passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Woody Parrish will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, June 29, 2026, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Roger lived a busy and full life, he was a farmer, welder, worked with Mello Buttercup Ice Cream for thirty-eight years as a route salesman, sales manager, and branch manager, he was also a Cabinet Technician, and he worked twenty-two years with Wilson County as a waste site manager. Roger was not only a hard worker but a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and a friend to all who knew him. He was dearly loved and he will be greatly missed and thought of often with wonderful memories.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Kathleen Mozingo; daughters, Ann Bass of Stantonsburg, and Linda Coffey and husband, Vic of Bunn; grandchildren, Barbara Dietrich and husband, Robbie, Roger Bass and wife, Ashley, Billy Coffey and wife, Melissa, and Craig Coffey; great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Julia Dietrich, Noah, Charlie and Brayden Bass, and Helena Coffey; sister, Gladys Mae Bundy; brother, Bobby Gene Mozingo; several nieces and nephews, and his special furbaby “Kitty Tom”.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Coailger Coffey; parents, Elbert and Gladys Mozingo; sister, Louise Vandiford, and his brothers, Junior, Ed, Willis, Connie, Jack, Billy Ray, David and Carroll Mozingo.
