Russell Raymond “Russ” Hinesley 76 of Wilson, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy W, Wilson, NC. Interment will follow at the Buckhorn Cemetery, NC Hwy 42, Kenly, NC. Rev. Charles Thompson, Pastor Danny Harris, and Rev. Danny Bunn will be officiating.
The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 to 1:45pm on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home.
Russ was an active member of Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a faithful leader and mentor of the Royal Rangers, taught Sunday School, ran the sound system, started a food pantry though the church, and served on the pastor’s board. He was active in Meals on Wheels and The Chew program which helped feed children in the local community. He was an avid bowler and loved playing golf. He loved Chicago Bears football and Indiana University basketball. He will be remembered for his faith in God, love for his family, and for helping others.
Russ is survived by his wife, Patsy Fisher Hinesley; his son, Richard Charles “Rich” Hinesley and wife Stephanie of Greenwood, IN; his daughter, Shelley Denise Heisler of Nashville, NC; his sister Dianne Hinesley Munoz (Jaime) of Lebanon, IN; and his grandchildren, Hayley (Conner), Samantha, Corey, Luke, Micah, Taylor (Nathan), and Courtney. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family.
Russ was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Billie Hinesley; his brother, Chuck Hinesley; and his sister, Beth Hinesley Burris.
