Shelby Jean Ricks Whitfield

Shelby Jean Ricks Whitfield, 81, of Hurdle Mills, passed away Wednesday. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate.

Shelby is survived by her granddaughters, Ava Stone, Bella Stone and their father, Dusty Stone; sister, Lucille Troutman and husband, Wade of Wilson; brother, Wayne Ricks (Hattie Rhodes) of Sneeds Ferry; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Dorothy Ricks; husband, Clyde Whitfield; daughter, Amy Stone; son, Jeff Edwards and brother, Ronnie Ricks.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made in Shelby’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte NC 28209 or American Parkinson Disease Association, P.O. Box 61420, Staten Island, New York, 10306.
