Shirley Gloria Brown Hopkins, 77, of Middlesex passed away Friday, September 20th.  Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, September 23rd at Stony Hill FWB Church, 9646 Stoney Hill Church Road, Middlesex.  Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Middlesex.  The Rev. Ken Wagnon and Rev. Allen Stanley will officiate. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, September 22nd at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at 7899 Hoyt Road, Middlesex. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her.  She was loved and will be remembered with joy, laughter and smiles that will warm their hearts. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Susan Wilson and husband, Sandy; her son, Len Hopkins and wife, Jan; her grandson, Benjamin Wilson; her granddaughter, Hilary Wilson and her great-granddaughter, Laney Wilson all of Middlesex; her sisters, Margaret Allen, Catherine Strickland, Judy Brown, Almeta Allen and Barbara Narron and her brothers, Wallace Brown and Hoyt Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Jackson Hopkins; her parents, Allen and Reba Finch Brown and her brother, Jay Brown.
