Susan Everette Williamson

Susan Everette Williamson, 82, of Wilson, went home to be with her Savior and Lord on Thursday, September 28.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 1 at 2:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  Reverend Ray Wells and Reverend Daniel Vester will officiate.

Family will receive friends following the funeral service at Joyner’s Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Susan was a devoted wife, mom, and grandmother. She supported her sons in all of their sporting activities. She loved cooking and gardening, especially her roses. She also enjoyed attending activities for the grandchildren, to include art and sporting events. She was an avid NC State Wolfpack fan and enjoyed attending football games. Susan held a special love for the beach and fishing with her husband, Wayne and the family. The joy of watching her children and grandchildren playing in the sand and water warmed her heart. She also loved attending Christmas shows in Myrtle Beach with her dear friend, Michelle, and fun times on the NC coast with lots of lifetime friends.  She was a faithful member of Marsh Swamp OFWB Church and always enjoyed the fellowship of Sunday School and Church services.

Susan is survived by her sons, Russell Wayne Williamson and his wife, Mary Dell of Wilson and David Kyle Williamson and his wife, Angela of Emerald Isle; grandchildren, Matthew Williamson, Bradley Williamson and wife, Deanna, Bridgette P. Williamson, and J. Kyle Williamson; great-grandchild, Afton Grace Williamson; brother, Gerald Lynn Everette; sisters, Francis Pauline Moore, Kathy Yvonne Ferrell, Vicky Lee Vaughn, and Sandra Joy Cone; and many nieces and nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Milton Wayne Williamson; brother, Robert Franklin Everette; and sisters, Judy Carol Brady and Janie Gray Baker.

The family sends a special thanks to the Hospice of Wilson staff for their loving care. Also, a special thanks to friends and family that have helped during these difficult times.
