Teresa Jayne Powell

Teresa Jayne Powell, 63, of Bailey passed away Friday, June 5, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, at Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, Elm City. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. Pastor Shawn Garnett will officiate.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon prior to the service from 1 – 1:45 p.m. at Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, 4403 London Church Road, Elm City.

Teresa is survived by her husband, William “Billy” Allen Powell; sisters, Vicky Speight of Jacksonville, Florida and Debbie Mitchell and husband, Donald of Kenly; brother, Andy Speight and wife, Beth of Kenly; nieces, Kandice Brown and husband, Alex of Wake Forest and Jayne Speight of Florida; nephew, Josh Speight and wife, Denise of Lucama; great-nieces, Brittney Olemsted and husband, Steven, Abby Speight, Lilly Speight, and Aubrey Brown; great nephews, Lil Josh Speight and Lincoln Brown, and step-son, Ricky Starling and wife, Marcie of Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Peggy Speight and her sister, Cathy Speight.
