We are sad to announce the passing of Thomas “Wayne” Barham of Middlesex, North Carolina. He passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Pastor Sean Skaggs will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Wayne was born on December 16, 1950, to JT and Christine Barham. He grew up in Rolesville and attended Vaden Whitley High School before joining the Navy. After the Navy, he tried his hand at a few trades but found his passion in driving an eighteen-wheeler. He drove all types of trucks from long distance to moving mobile homes and hauling cranes. Along his journey, he gained many close friends and the love of his life, Donna. As a truck driver, he was given many nicknames, or as they like to call it, “handles”. Country Boy and Father Time were two of them, but at home is where he earned his favorite name of “Granda”. Wayne loved being Granda to his grandchildren, great grandson and many others that were blessed to stay at Mimmy and Granda’s house. Wayne was loved by everyone he crossed paths with and will be dearly missed by all.
Wayne is survived by his daughter, Amy Brooks and husband, Sammy of Middlesex; grandchildren, Kimber Limon and husband, Josh of Zebulon and Brodie Brooks of Middlesex; great grandchild, Daniel Limon; brothers, Donnie Barham and wife, Pam of Zebulon and Billy Barham and wife, Sherri of Zebulon and a host of loving nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Wood Barham; parents, John and Christine Barham; sister, Doris Ann Carter and his brother, Ronnie Dale Barham.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Joyner's Funeral Home for end of end-of-life expenses, or donations in Wayne’s name to the American Legion Post 278, P.O. Box 278, Middlesex, North Carolina, 27557.
