Thomas -Tommy- Edgar Whitley, 79, of Wilson passed away Tuesday.-Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Joyner-s Funeral Home.-Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.-/p>

The family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:30 Thursday at Joyner-s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at 2620 Ridge Road, Wilson.

Tommy is survived by his son, Ricky Whitley and wife, Bernadette of Wilson; his daughter, Jeanine Hamscher and husband, Greg of Chesapeake, VA; his grandchildren, Kyle Whitley of Elm City, Stephanie Hines of Middlesex, Rachel Whitley and Whitley Braswell both of Wilson, and Zach and Andrew Hamscher both of Chesapeake, VA; his great-grandchildren, Xavier and Xander; his brother, James Whitley and wife, Florence of Wilson; his sister, Jean Eatmon of Wilson-and his special friend, Pat Lowe.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jean Whitley.
