Tony Ray Pipkin, 76, of Stantonsburg passed away Friday, October 17, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson with the family receiving friends immediately following. Pastor Lewis Forsythe will officiate.
Tony is survived by his sister, Sandra Briggs and husband, Jim of Greenville; brothers, Gary Pipkin and wife, Keith of Saratoga, and Gerald Pipkin and wife, Carla of Rocky Mount; sister-in-law, Regina Pipkin and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Ivey Pipkin; parents, Ralph Pipkin Sr. and Joyce Pipkin; sister, Peggy Ann Pipkin and his brothers, Don Pipkin, Ronny Pipkin, and Ralph Pipkin Jr.
Tony graduated from Saratoga Central High School after which he joined the Navy. He spent twenty years serving his country with honor and pride. During his time in the Navy, he received various awards and citations including The Navy Achievement Medal by the Secretary of the Navy and Sailor of the year in 1977. After the Navy he worked with ST Wooten and Magnum’s Transport and Heavy Haul. He was a member of Saratoga Original Free Will Baptist Church and dedicated his life to Christ and was so grateful for his church family’s care and love.
Tony’s one true love was his wife, Ivey, if a man ever loved and cared for a woman it was Tony for Ivey. His hobbies included any Duke sports, fishing, and a love for old and fast cars.
Tony and his family would like to thank his close friends and members of his community for their kindness and support throughout his illness and life. Tony also wanted to send a special thanks to Duke Raleigh’s Cancer Center for the care he felt and was shown by each and every person he met there.
