Troy Bennett

Troy Bennett November 11, 1971 - May 23, 2020 Darrell Troy Bennett, Jr., 48 passed away in his sleep on May 23, 2020. He was the son of Lillie Compton Bennett and the late Darrell Troy Bennett, Sr. Troy enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience in the field of Industrial Systems Technology with his students at both high school and college level. His passion for teaching carried over into historical reenacting, sharing his love of history with spectators and fellow reenactors, while making lifelong friends among the 26th North Carolina Regiment and beyond. Troy’s greatest loves were God and his family. Always the loving father, Troy found great joy in watching his sons grow in their own learning, love, and faith. Troy is survived by his wife, Katherine Spry Bennett; four sons, Darrell Troy Bennett, III, Aiden Kidd Bennett, Connor Garrison Bennett and Jackson Bailes Bennett; mother, Lillie Compton Bennett and his siblings, Deborah Eastwood and husband, Jimmie, Doris Harper and husband, Chris, Andy Bennett and wife, Megan, Beth Ellis and husband, Brett and Angela Wheeler and husband, Dustin. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Gerald Warren. A private service will be held at Wilson Presbyterian Church, 4851 Bloomery Road, Wilson. Pastor Andy Raynor will officiate.
