Vicki Fields Tapp

Vicki Fields Tapp 75, of Wilson passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, with her dog, Joker by her side.

Vicki was a devoted nurse, receiving her RN from Sullivan University in Louisville, KY. She worked in the CCU at Duke University Hospital where she consistently put her patients, needs and desires at the forefront. Her patients were her passion, and she took immense pride in providing exceptional care. She was a role model and educator for many nurses and doctors, sharing her knowledge and expertise. Her honesty inspired trust among patients, families, and friends. She remained steadfast in her commitment to advocating for her patients, even when it meant challenging the statis quo. She also loved fishing, camping, and was an avid reader.

Vicki is survived by aunts, Mona Jo Napier of Powell, TN, and Betty Everett of Boise, ID; special friends Debra Crocker and Denise Mangum.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ruth and William P. Fields; and son, William Dale Tapp.
