William "Billy" Elton Boykin

William “Billy” Elton Boykin, 71, of Sims, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025. A special gathering of friends will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Billy is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Susan Boykin; his son, Jeffrey Boykin and wife, Abby of Sims; his grandchildren, Cora and Miller; his sisters, Pam Mozingo and husband, Jerry of Goldsboro, and Patsy Durham and husband, J.T. of Bailey; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Joe Boykin; his mother, Ruby Thorpe; and his father, Elton Boykin.

Billy was a loving husband, a proud father, and a devoted Grandaddy. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting with family and friends. A hardworking farmer for most of his life, Billy found joy in the simple blessings of each day.

His presence, laughter, and strong work ethic will be dearly missed.
