William “Greg” Wrenn, 68, of Bailey passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. Rev. Gina House will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Greg was a loving and caring husband, father, son, granddaddy, uncle, and friend. He always put others before himself, especially his family. Greg was a great man and a hero to many.
Greg retired from the NC Department of Transportation after 30 years of service. Being a man of many talents, Greg started his own lawn maintenance business and handy man service. His greatest talent was his love of music, and one that he enjoyed most for over 50 years. His voice was calming, soft, and caring. His love for music and sharing that love with others led Greg to start the Southern Star Band and the Kenly Country Junction, and he shared his love of music up and down the east coast. Greg was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Messer Wrenn; son, Anthony Wrenn and wife, Diana of Middlesex; father, Frank Wrenn; step-son, Bo Sanderson and fiancé, Cyndi; step-daughter, Belinda Bailey and husband, Donald of Zebulon; grandsons, Rusty Wrenn, Morgan Wrenn and Timothy Hazelton; granddaughters, Brittney Hazelton and Amber Eason; great grandsons, Aiden Higgins, and Nicholas Eason; great-granddaughter, Madison Higgins, and his brother, Mark Wrenn and wife, Shelia of Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Doris Wrenn, and his brother, Frankie Wrenn.
