William J. Howard Jr.,80, of Wilson passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2520. He was buried at Evergreen Memorial Park, 2800 Nash St N, Wilson, NC 27896.
William (Bill) was a graduate of Ralph L. Fike High School and later served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He received a bronze star for his participation in the supply and rescue of US Marines in Khe Sanh.
After service, he returned to Wilson where he worked with his father at Howard Enterprises and Thermold Development and Design. He enjoyed hunting and flying, earning his pilot’s license after he retired.
Bill is survived by his son, William (Bill) J. Howard (Susan); grandson, Turner Howard (Logan Overlock); granddaughter, Julianne Lindsey (Cam); grandson, Cooper Howard (Jordyn Wall); great-grandson, Liam; and his beloved Boykin Spaniel, Choke.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Sarah F. Howard; his father, William J. Howar, Sr.; and his mother, Myatt Ferrell Howard.
