William Thomas Saunders, Jr.

William Thomas “Tommy” Saunders Jr. 53 passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Farmington Heights at the Surge Center, 910 Raleigh Road Parkway, W, Wilson. Pastor Josh Carter and Pastor Steve Blower will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 4 – 5:45 p.m. at the Surge Center, Wilson.

Tommy demonstrated a life of servitude. He touched many lives while serving as a youth leader through church ministry, engaging with students and faculty in schools across eastern NC through Candyman Fundraising, and getting together with his neighbors and friends. Most importantly he was a family man dedicated to his wife, children, parents, brother, and many who called him Uncle Tommy. He also loved his beloved pets Abby, Daisy, Jade, and Toby.

Tommy is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Christy Saunders; daughters, Liza Grace Saunders, and Ellary Faith Saunders; son, Jeremiah Saunders; mother, Debbie Saunders; brother, Barry Saunders and wife, Tracy and their children, Kayla Jenkins, Bryleigh Saunders, and Ayden Saunders and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Saunders, and his in-laws, Elmer and Shirley Pierce.
