Willie Carroll Rose, Sr. October 30, 1925 -July 30, 2013

Willie Carroll Rose, Sr., 87, of Wilson passed away Tuesday.   A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Maplewood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6 -8 p.m. Thursday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.

Willie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and a friend to all that knew him. He will be greatly missed and thought of often with joy and smiles.   He graduated from UNC Pharmacy School in 1948 where he became a pharmacist and in 1985 he became the owner and president of Thomas Drug Store.   Willie served his country with honor during World War II and the Korea Conflict.

Willie is survived by his wife, Edna Taylor Rose of the home; his sons, William Carroll Rose, Jr. and wife, Elaine of Wilson and Clifton Allen Rose and wife, Karen of Wilson; his granddaughter, Emily Caroline Rose of Wilson; his grandsons, William Fields Rose, Aaron Lee Rose and Ethan Taylor Rose all of Wilson; his sisters, Judy Rose Bundy and husband, Sam of Raleigh, Edna Rose Page of Newton Grove and Jean Rose Tew and husband, Tommy of Morrisville and his brother, Charles Richard Rose and wife, Mary Clare of Florida.
